The gist about Mulan, young Mulan is distraught to learn that her weak father must join the army to fight the invading Huns.
Unwilling to endanger his life, she disguises herself as a man and joins the army in his place.
The film is a grounded mix on a folklore “The Ballad of Mulan”.
The film stars Liu Yifei as the titular character, alongside Donnie Yen, Jason Scot Lee, Yoson An, Gong Li, and Jet Li in supporting roles.
This movie is another testament to Disney’s closeness to Feminism.
Mulan can be said to be synonymous to Beauty and the Beast, difference been Beauty decided to change her gender.
Mulan will leave you in three sheets to the wind in emotions, hopefully converts you to a feminist.
9. BAD BOYS FOR LIFE
Directed by: Adil El Arbi, Bilall Fallah
Starring: Martin Lawrence, Will Smith
Date to watch: January 17, 2020.
Since the first release of the Bad Boyz for life franchise in 2005, it as consistently kept it fans coming back for more.
The producers know his, seeing the budget for this action packed movie is pegged at $90M.
The duo of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence delivers a virtuoso performance playing cops, keeping the ‘good boys’ behind iron bars.
The project initially faced funding constraints under former director Michael Bay, the announcement in october 2018 dispelled fears about continuity of the franchise.

8. FAST AND FURIOUS 9

Fast and furious 9 is slated for release on May 222, 2020.
A sequel to 2017’s The Fate of the Furious, it will be the ninth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise.

7. GODZILLA VS KONG

The film is also the 36th film in the Godzilla franchise, the 12th film in the King Kong franchise.
Though slated for release much later in the year – November 20, 2020, the enthusiasm is so wild you can almost touch it.
Cast to watch: Alexander Skarsgård – plays the reluctant hero, Kyle Chandler – plays Dr. Mark Russel, an expert Anthropologist.
6. NO TIME TO DIE
Director: Cary Joji Fukunaga
Starring : Daniel Craig, Lashana Lynch, Remi Malek.
Launch Date: April 20, 2020.
The trans generation action thriller is back, The James Bond franchise simply as No Time To Die.
The gist, half a decade after the capture of Ernst Stavro Blofeld, James Bond has retired from active service.
James Bond is recruited by a friend Felix Leiter to rescue a kidnapped scientist, globe-trotting spy.
He finds himself hot on the trail of a dangerously mysterious villain, who’s armed with a dangerous new technology.
No Time To Die is the 25th of the James Bond franchise is set to be released, it features Daniel Craig as the fictional MI6 agent James Bond.
5. LIVING IN BONDAGE
Director: Ramsey Noah, Kenneth Okonkwo.
Starring: Ramsey Noah, Kenneth Okonkwo.
Date to launch: Launched.
One of Nollywood’s living legends Ramsey Noah, make his Directorial debut with this piece.
Living in bondage sequel to the 1992 release, resurrected 27 years later beats many screenplays to it to make Box office record.
It will be the first film in the series to be internationally distributed by Universal Pictures, which acquired the rights.
The gist, An investigative journalist and blogger Uzoma (David Jone David) grows suspicious of notable billionaires associated with mysterious murders, and consults Andy who is now a pastor.
Having experienced the dark side of cultism himself, Andy uses Uzoma’s influence to warn his secret son and save him from The Six – now an international crime organisation – before time runs out.
Casts to watch: Ramsey Nouah. It recorded the highest opening weekend for a Nigerian film for 2019, grossing ₦25.8 million, and the highest collection in a single day for a Nollywood film in 2019.
4. BLING LAGOSIANS

Starring: Kanayo O Kanayo, Bob Manuel Dogwu, Kenneth Okonkwo.

It premiered on June 16, 2019 in Lagos.
The gist, The Bling Lagosians centers around the Holloways, a wealthy Lagos family and their mother Mopelola, who is about to celebrate her 51st birthday party.
There are individual feuds and fights between family members. Their father Akin takes steps to prevent the foreclosure of the family’s business by the Asset Management Corporation
3. SUGAR RUSH
Director: Kayode Kasum
Starring: Omoni Obolli, Adesua Etomi – Wellington, Bankole Wellington
Launch date: Launched.
Sugar Rush is a 2019 Nigerian comedy film written and directed by Kayode Kasum. The film stars Bimbo Ademoye, Bisola Aiyeola and Adesua Etomi-Wellington in the lead roles.
The film had its theatrical release on 25 December 2019 coinciding Christmas and opened to mixed reviews from critics.
Despite the mixed reviews, the film became a box office success and became the fifth highest grossing Nigerian film for the year.
2. YOUR EXCELLENCY
Your Excellency’ tells the story of Chief Olalekan Ajadi, a famous, billionaire businessman who apparently as failed in previous presidential candidate, who is obsessed with Donald Trump.
Just when his campaign looks set to be another disaster, Ajadi is anointed by a major party and becomes a credible contender – all through the power of social media.
Some may see it as a compilation of Instagram Skits, nonetheless ‘Your Excellency as received well deserved positive reviews across social media platforms.

After the first edition, they hung the boots on Robbin Hood theatrics and focus squarely on running their businesses.
