We are recruiting an accountant for our client, a reputable organization in the Oil and Gas sector. He/she must have a good understanding of the fundamentals of accounting: Proper bookkeeping, preparation of financial statements, reconciliation of accounts, the budgeting process, and tax-related issues.

• Minimum Qualification: Degree
• Experience Level: Graduate trainee
• Experience Length: 1 year

• Processing of payments to vendors, in compliance with company policies and tax regulations.
• Assessment of departmental financial needs vis-à-vis organizational plans, for budgeting purposes
• Monitoring of expenses against budgeted figures, to strengthen business margins.
• Preparation of accounting reports, to aid management decision making.
• Proper record-keeping and posting of financial transactions on accounting software.
• Reconciliation of accounts and preparation of reports, to support external audit exercises.
• Preparation of tax returns, and remittance of taxes to government agencies.
• Maintenance of accurate financial records, with respect to both employees and clients.
• Supporting Senior Accountants in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Being up to date on state and federal tax laws, especially as it relates to the Oil & Gas sector.

• BSc or HND Accounting, Finance, or relevant degree.
• Must have completed NYSC 
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills 
• Great organizational skills and deadline-oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices (International Financial Reporting Standards- IFRS)
• Student Membership/Qualifications in ICAN, ACCA, is an added advantage.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software, SAP, and QuickBooks is an added advantage
