Description

  • Prepare patients/clients for investigations by explaining the procedure and helping them to the ultrasound table, scrubbing the skin, applying the gel, and positioning them properly.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to record and produce images of the motion, shape, and composition of organs, tissues, and fluid accumulations.
  • Locate and record internal elements of the body, including blood vessels, and organs, and identify any anomaly indicative of disease, injury, or other medically significant conditions.
  • Perform medical screenings & interpretations such as Obstetrical Ultrasounds, Pelvic, Abdominal Pelvic, Folliculometry, Breast Scan, Thyroid, Transvaginal, Prostate, Testicular/Scrotal, Musculoskeletal/Small Part scan, Paediatrics, Ocular scan, Fetal A normally and Procedure intervention, etc.
  • Observe the screen during the scan to ensure that the image produced is satisfactory for diagnostic purposes and adjust equipment as required
  • Provide sonography and oral or written summary of technical findings to physicians for medical diagnosis.
  • Determine whether the scope of the investigation should be extended, based on the findings.
  • Analyze images, looking for variances between healthy and pathological areas for inclusion in the result reports to doctors.
  • Evaluate test results for clarity and accuracy; review tests with colleagues or other medical staff of Everight. Inform physicians of preliminary findings as requested and according to department procedures. Distribute completed test results to patients, physicians, and service providers.
  • Maintain client’s/patient’s charts, and billing records, logs data into patient’s/client’s information systems, and update file systems for tests performed.
  • Clean and sterilize equipment and workspace.
  • Recognize equipment malfunctions and readjust equipment or refer for repair, train and cross-train other clinical staff such as computer operators, data entry officers, front desk personnel, marketers, and dispatch riders as required.
  • Ensure that the ultrasound image produced is satisfactory for diagnostic purposes, making equipment adjustments as required.
  • Maintain records that include patient information, sonographs, and interpretation, files of correspondence, publications, regulations, and quality assurance records (e.g Pathology, Biopsy, Post-operative reports).
  • Maintain emotional balance especially when examination reveals unfavorable conditions (such as a dead fetus, tumor growth, etc.)
  • Support the X-ray, and laboratory units on exams like HSG, pap smear collection, history, etc.
  • Clean, sterilize, check and maintain sonographic equipment, submitting maintenance requests or performing minor repairs as necessary.

Qualification

  • Minimum academic qualification of an MBBS, Certificate in Ultrasonography, current practice license 
  • At least 2 years of working experience as a sonologist in a medical diagnostic center or hospital.
  • Strong, technical, interpersonal, and patient service skills
  • Ability to explain technical terms in a clear and understandable way
  • Good Communication skills.
